We are now accepting on-time applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Families will be added to our waitlist and will receive a notification of selection if space becomes available. Here's how to apply:
-
Go to the LA Unified Enrollment Portal.
-
Click on "Apply Now."
-
If this is your first time applying to a Magnet school, click on the "Register" button (next to the blue "Log In" button) and follow the instructions. The district will immediately send you an email with instructions on how to complete the registration process.
-
Once logged back in, add your student(s) by clicking the "Add a Student" button. Choose the grade level in which your student is currently enrolled.
-
From the Dashboard, click on "Apply to Programs." Then, select your student's name and click on "Next" at the bottom of the screen.
-
Select "Magnet / PWT Programs" and click "Next."
-
The next two pages will ask you to verify that your information, as well as your student's information, is correct. When you are finished reviewing each page, click "Next" to continue.
-
Check the small box next to "Magnet." Then use the drop-down menu to select GRANT HS (College Preparatory/Digital Arts)(1868302). Note: you are only required to choose one school, but you have the option to add two more.
-
Verify if your student has siblings currently attending the Grant CPDA Magnet, or if your student is a twin or triplet, and then click "Next."
-
On the next screen, select "Yes" if you'd like your student's name to be shared with other LAUSD Magnet schools that may have space available. When finished, click "Next: Terms and Conditions."
-
Carefully read the Terms and Conditions, then check the certification statement at the end. Click the blue "Submit" button. Congratulations—you're finished!
Please make sure that all the information is filled out correctly, including ethnicity, etc. It is best to type all information on your application in CAPITAL LETTERS. If information is missing, LAUSD will consider it INCOMPLETE.

What Our Current Students Say:
Being part of the CPDA Magnet is like being part of an involved family. Being able to rely on and comfortably talk to teachers, counselors, and mentors is a privilege in high school and has made the experience so much easier. I feel as though our magnet is giving us the best quality of education and preparation for college and our future that any student can ask for.
The best thing about being a CPDA student has to be the teachers. Every day when I go into class I always feel like the teachers really care about what they do. They take the time to make sure that every student understands the topic, and they are genuinely amazing people who will support you throughout your high school years and beyond.
I took two very fast paced college classes during summer and they felt like a breeze. The CPDA magnet gets you ready for college better than any other program.
The best thing about being a CPDA student is that you are able to express your true colors. You can express who you are and have so many people around you who make you feel safe and loved.
To be a CPDA Magnet student means to be curious. Teachers encourage me to explore my interests without the fear of failure as all things can be made possible with hard-work and dedication. In addition, this magnet has significantly impacted my character outside of the classroom encouraging me to form informed decisions by taking time to consider and explore numerous perspectives.
