Applying to Our Magnet
On-Time Applications Due Nov 18

We are now accepting on-time applications for the 2023-2024 school year. Families will be added to our waitlist and will receive a notification of selection if space becomes available. Here's how to apply:

  1. Go to the LA Unified Enrollment Portal.

  2. Click on "Apply Now."

  3. If this is your first time applying to a Magnet school, click on the "Register" button (next to the blue "Log In" button) and follow the instructions. The district will immediately send you an email with instructions on how to complete the registration process.

  4. Once logged back in, add your student(s) by clicking the "Add a Student" button. Note: When selecting "Grade (22-23)," choose the grade level in which your student is currently enrolled.

  5. From the Dashboard, click on "Apply to Programs." Then, select your student's name and click on "Next" at the bottom of the screen.

  6. Select "Magnet / PWT Programs" and click "Next."

  7. The next two pages will ask you to verify that your information, as well as your student's information, is correct. When you are finished reviewing each page, click "Next" to continue.

  8. Check the small box next to "Magnet." Then use the drop-down menu to select GRANT HS (College Preparatory/Digital Arts)(1868302). Note: you are only required to choose one school, but you have the option to add two more.

  9. Verify if your student has siblings currently attending the Grant CPDA Magnet, or if your student is a twin or triplet, and then click "Next."

  10. On the next screen, select "Yes" if you'd like your student's name to be shared with other LAUSD Magnet schools that may have space available. When finished, click "Next: Terms and Conditions."

  11. Carefully read the Terms and Conditions, then check the certification statement at the end. Click the blue "Submit" button. Congratulations—you're finished!

Please make sure that all the information is filled out correctly, including ethnicity, etc.  It is best to type all information on your application in CAPITAL LETTERS.  If information is missing, LAUSD will consider it INCOMPLETE.

If you need any assistance doing this please do not hesitate to contact our office at 818-756-2776 or email Andrea Caruso (Magnet Coordinator) at andrea.caruso@grantmagnet.net.

Why Choose the Grant CPDA Magnet?

I started my semester on Monday, and as the professors were talking about "annotating readings" also known as actively reading the articles I couldn't help but think about everything I have already actively read in your classes. As for my English class, it is also a research lab and the final paper is 8-10 pages, which is more than possible considering all the writing and skills I developed [in the Magnet]. Thank you for your amazing teaching...your work is truly getting students ready for college.

I love working at the College Prep & Digital Arts Magnet. The students are amazing—bright, motivated, and hard-working. I especially love that I get to watch students grow up as they progress from my Freshman Foundations seminar and my 12th Grade English Literature classes.
